Nurturing Research Conference 2024 - Friday 21st June 2024, Manchester Metropolitan University (Refreshments and lunch included)

We are delighted to announce the Nurturing Research conference which will take place on Friday the 21st June at Manchester Metropolitan University. The conference is aimed at anyone who has started their journey or is preparing to start the journey as a researcher in any capacity. This includes those who are working towards or are already at level 7 (MSc), those who want to develop their research pillar of Advanced Clinical Practice or just any MSK physiotherapist who has started to dip their toes in the water and would like a safe place to develop their research skills.

The conference will consist of invited speaker sessions, workshops and oral and poster presentation of submitted abstracts. However all of these sessions are aimed at helping to develop more novice researchers. Our invited speakers are eminent researchers who will discuss their own personal research journeys.

We are delighted to welcome Professor Caroline Alexander, Professor Dylan Morrissey and Professor Lisa Roberts. We will also have sessions on quality improvement, NIHR Fellowships as well as getting started in research.

Abstract Submissions are welcome from any MSK Physio – click here to submit, closing date for submissions is 5th February 2024. Abstracts may include original research, audit or quality improvement studies. All submitted abstracts and all presentations (poster or oral) will receive feedback delivered in a nurturing format - the key aim is to support and develop new researchers.

Early bird prices are Members £55 and Non Members £65 (Early bird ends 30th April 2024). From 1st May 2024 prices will be Members £75 and Non Members £85. You do not need to be an MACP member to book however non-members will be asked to create a user account on our website.

Society of Musculoskeletal Medicine - one day CPD injection therapy course

Is it a while since you trained as an injection therapist? If so, this course is for you! Find out about recent contemporary evidence around injection therapy and enjoy the opportunity to network with multi-professional peers to hone your practice.

Overview

This highly popular one-day CPD day- recently updated with clinical experience, evidence and feedback from our multi-professional MSK communities - aims to provide injection therapists with a one-stop update and refresher. It is an essential CPD activity in demonstrating ongoing capabilities, currency and continued professional development in injection therapy and for your portfolio.

This is a face-to-face course, which includes a combination of:

Bite-size lectures on a variety of topics and clinical updates in injection therapy;
Interactive practical workshop to revise surface anatomy and palpation skills;
Case-based discussions offering delegates an opportunity to discuss case scenarios and enhancing clinical reasoning skills.

This one-day CPD day is ideal for existing multi-professional MSK injection therapists, who are currently practising anatomical landmark-guided injection in their clinical settings. This includes FCPs, ACPs, MSK Physiotherapists and medical doctors, such as GPs, and doctors in sport & exercise medicine and orthopaedics.
